MØ does not deal in half measures. She’s here to take it all, finding her sound somewhere between punk-pop smoulder and riotous fun; Eurovision on steroids. Diplo’s been a guiding hand in the Danish songstress’ career, bringing her into the limelight with that prolific ‘Lean On’ feature and crafting her into a fully-fledged sledgehammer of pop with ‘Kamikaze’. She strikes a balance between unpredictable and theatrical, throwing head back to scream ‘MANCHESTER!’ every few minutes and leaping between the stage and barrier. Lots of previously unheard material is aired, all carrying the potential for monstrous success. It’s not just agreeable chart music; MØ is what pop deserves and needs right now.
