Originally named Fort Fest, Formations Festival is back for it’s second one-day event at The George in Hitchin. Celebrating new and emerging music as well as culture and art across Hertforshire, the festival is set to take place on Saturday 17th September and will include future stars, Dream Wife, as headliners. Live performances will also come from Free Money, Beachtape, Lupo, Blush, Timeless Lizards, J.W. Paris, Paris Youth Collective, Maritime Effect, Thank You, Alexis Kings, Franco Bollo, A House In The Threes and Hitchin Samba Band. Showcasing an eclectic variety of music, each live set will demonstrate influences anything from psychedelia to the carnival atmosphere that pours out of countries like Rio. Promising an even better sound for 2016, Formations Festival still ensures that all stages are an intimate setting for those watching across the day. Boasting the fact that the event is free for all, one part of the venue will be taken over by Oli Balland as he takes control of the live projections happening. Creating a setting that is never before seen, the art installations are as big a part of the day as the music. Accompanying this will also be DJs scheduled in to pay homage to the likes of Prince and Bowie, as well as sets from Far Out & Friends, Dead Boys Disco, Ulrika Spacek, Clockwork DJs and so many more. If you think that’s everything, you’re wrong. There will be acoustic acts and local stalls too. Setting itself up to be one of the best events in the surrounding areas, Formations Festival is taking everything that is great about the creative industry and bringing it all to a place where you’re guaranteed to find something new, experience something different and watch some performances from artists who have the potential to be playing in much bigger venues in years to come. And if that wasn’t enough, the organisers have also teamed up with DICE to allow you to get your free tickets on the app. If, and when, the festival hits full capacity, customers with the ticketing app will become priority for entry. If there’s any doubt that this isn’t going to be an extremely memorable event, you may just want to rethink over everything we have told you.
