KAYTRANADA – ‘LITE SPOTS’
Around this time last year Julio Bashmore released the most understated album of the year. It encompassed summer with subtle nods to sun kissed festival crowds. This year saw the turn of much talked about producer and DJ KAYTRANADA. ‘LITE SPOTS’ is the latest single from his album ‘99.9%’ and brings crackly samples to the 21st century with some thumping hip-hop beats and hip-thrusting robots.

James Blake – ‘I Need A Forest Fire feat. Bon Iver’
After the success of ‘Fall Creek Boys Choir’, James Blake and Bon Iver continue to surpass expectations with ‘I Need a Forest Fire’ the standout track from the former’s surprise third LP “The Colour in Anything”. The song combines what both do best with synths, loops and haunting vocals. All we can do now is hope the collaboration continues in a live setting on the festival circuit this summer.

Toothless – ‘Kairos’
Bombay Bicycle Club’s Ed Nash’s first outing as Toothless never really did bare its teeth through timid first single ‘Terra’. Now thought we’re starting to get a glimpse of those backing vocals he supplied for Bombay in a shimmering, more upbeat single titled ‘Kairos’ which could’ve been plucked from ‘I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose’. A step in the right direction for Nash it seems.
