Our tracks this week are pretty huge numbers, covering off-kilter pop, gearing up for albums and general bangers.

Glass Animals – Youth

Glass Animals’ second studio album How to be a Human Being is shaping up to be as fruitful as their debut. ‘Youth’ is four minutes of delicious psychedelic pop, oozing with charm and colour. The track flows effortlessly, with frontman Dave Bayley’s silken vocals layered with velvety synths. Glass Animals have a knack for being able to transport listeners to a world free of rough edges, and ‘Youth’ emphasises this talent. The track is perfect for chilling in the sun and letting your cares float away. If you are looking for the audio equivalent of being by the pool, sipping a cocktail from a coconut shell, this track has you covered.

The Big Moon – Silent Movie Susie

Following a string of festival slots at the likes of Glastonbury and Latitude, The Big Moon’s newest release is already a certified crowd pleaser. ‘Silent Movie Susie’ is a boisterous summer anthem chock-full of energy and character. Unlike their previous release ‘Cupid’, the track does not hold back and jumps straight into the momentous guitar riffs. The mellow vocals contrast the positive summertime vibe of the track harmoniously. Perfect music for head-banging to on a drive this festival season. You can catch The Big Moon at Kendal Calling or Boardmasters this summer and touring with Mystery Jets later this year.

AlunaGeorge – Mean What I Mean

For their second studio album, AlunaGeorge are going heavy on their featured artists and ‘Mean What I Mean’ is no exception. The duo enlist the help from full time mask-wearer and Brooklyn rapper Leikeli47 and Chicago’s rising R&B star Dreezy. This is a clear marker for their musical direction, as they turn their attention to garage and R&B, while attempting to cross the pond. Despite Aluna’s sugar sweet vocals, the track erupts with attitude. If you’re mega irritated by someone, and want to dance the frustration away, AlunaGeorge have presented you with the perfect way to vent.
