Carseat Headrest will release their new album, Making a Door Less Open on 01 May.

The album will be the Virginian band’s first new music since 2016’s Teens of Denial.

The first single from the album, ‘Can’t Cool Me Down’, is a multi-part synth and drum-machine fantasia. You can listen to track below.

Making a Door Less Open was created over the course of four years and is the result of a ‘collaboration’ between Car Seat Headrest, led by Will Toledo, and 1 Trait Danger, a CSH electronic side project consisting of drummer Andrew Katz and Toledo’s new alternative persona, ‘Trait.’

Toledo, said: “We’ve been working out the backstory [of trait] as we go. I think he spent a lot of time in classified government facilities before getting into the music business.”

You can read the full statement from Toledo as ‘Trait’ here.

The band will tour North America this summer, you can view dates on their site.
