Reading based crooner, Jacob Holroyd debuts his golden new single right here on The VLM.

‘Golden Strings’, Holroyd’s debut track is a glittery, Motown-inspired rock ballad featuring Morrissey-esque vocals and a shimmery guitar solo. Recorded with fellow Reading rockers The Amazons, the track was pieced together following a trip to the Big Apple.

“At the time of recording, I’d just come back from New York where I’d discovered lots of old soul and Motown records, in particular William Bell’s ‘I Forgot to be your Lover'”.

“Gold Strings is a very personal song but for me that’s the only way I can write – from an honest perspective otherwise it gets a bit lost on me,” said Holroyd.

The track due to be officially released this Friday (18th) is just a teaser of what’s to come, with yet another track in the works for a July release.
