Jessie Ware drops new track: ‘Overtime’ Will Fisher October 3, 2018Justin Higuchi The Madonna-esque track is Ware’s first release in just under a year since her third album, Glasshouse. The track produced by Bicep and James Ford is her first since signing to a partnership with PMR/Virgin EMI Records. You can listen below. ‘Overtime’ was premiered on Annie Mac’s Future Sounds show as the ‘Hottest Record in the World’. The track sees Ware return to the club scene – with throbbing synths and not a whiff of guitar. It also features a whispering chorus particularly reminiscent of Maggy. Ware hinted on Mac’s show that the track is a taste of what is to come and said: “It feels like I’m going back to my early days; it’s a late night song to flirt to.” Ware has certainly been busy since the release of Glasshouse. She embarked on a 17-date tour over nine countries, a four-night residency at London’s Islington Assembly Hall and continued her various philanthropy work. She has also been working on the critically acclaimed Table Manners podcast hosted with her mother. The weekly podcast features big name guests such as Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran and Sadiq Khan.
