2016 was the year we sat up and began taking notice of the bountiful of music Scandinavian has on offer. The likes of Tove Lo and MØ stole the charts by releasing a handful of mega-pop anthems in just twelve months. Waiting in the wings in 2017 though is fellow Nordic songstress Skott and she’s got her own blend of sinister pop that comes with its own bite.
‘Glitter & Gloss’ takes pinches from the darker side of pop with licks of Lana Del Rey’s vocals down to the twisted pop melodies we’ve become to lust for from Grimes. It’s a sound that’s had big name artists such as Lorde and Katy Perry tweeting their approval of.
Skott is currently writing her debut album, due for release later this year and if you can’t wait to hear more you can catch her at London’s Omeara on 7th March. Listen to ‘Glitter & Gloss’ below:
