Self Esteem, (the project of Sheffield’s Rebecca Lucy Taylor), has returned with a stunning new spoken word track titled, ‘I Do This All The Time’.

The track is the first new music from Self Esteem since her 2019 debut album Compliments Please  and the ensuing Cuddles Please EP which featured stripped down reworks of three tracks from the album.

‘I Do This All The Time’ is a beautifully crafted monologue of inner thoughts and contemplations regarding relationships, self confidence, and human contradictions.

When we last spoke with the Sheffield songwriter at the start of the pandemic, she told us how 2020 was “going to be a year to write and record the new album,” which would indicate that more singles could soon be to follow for this year.

In the video for the track, Taylor is found hugging herself, ultimately receiving the cuddles she was requesting with her last EP title. The track and video feature numerous easter eggs from Self Esteem’s career to date.

Taylor has also announced tour dates for November 2021 featuring stops at Sheffield Leadmill, Leeds Belgrave Music Hall, and Manchester Gorilla. The full tour dates can be viewed below.

Pre sale tickets have now ended but general ticket sales will be on sale from 30 April.
