CHVRCHES have shared the new single, ‘Good Girls’ along with details of a UK tour for March 2022, including a date at Manchester Apollo.

The Scottish trio, unveiled the single as Hottest Record on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show with front woman Lauren Mayberry explaining in a statement that the track takes aim at “misogynistic ideals”.

Misogyny and sexism appear to be core themes across the upcoming album Screen Violence, due for release 27 August.

“The opening line (killing your idols is a chore) was something I wrote after listening to some friends arguing about the present day implications of loving certain problematic male artists – I was struck by the lengths that people would go to in order to excuse their heroes and how that was so juxtaposed to my own experiences in the world,” Mayberry said.

The single is the third to come from Screen Violence to be released via EMI Records (UK) and Glassnote (US). The track follows ‘How Not To Drown‘ featuring Robert Smith of The Cure and April’s lead single ‘He Said She Said‘ which was previously also Hottest Record in the World.

In conjunction with this release, CHVRCHES have announced details of their 2022 UK tour featuring a stop at Manchester Apollo on 19 March. Tickets go on sale here from 9:30am on 23 July.
