Despite having only three tracks officially released, Liverpool band The Peach Fuzz are already creating quite the buzz with their blend of “psych, pop, and rock ‘n’ roll”.
The five-piece have already buried their feet deep within the rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle, completing a tour in March earlier this year. The band played to cities across the UK, including Manchester, Sheffield, and Leeds. They also played a homecoming show in the infamous Cavern Club.
“We loved playing in the Cavern! It was so cool to play in such an iconic venue and it was a good gig,” said the band.
The group are signed to Skeleton Key Records (Blossoms, The Coral, Cabbage) and have come along way already since their first gig in the rugged Brookhouse Pub in Liverpool just three years ago.
The Peach Fuzz commandeered the stage in Manchester back in March, with frontman Nathaniel Cummings holding the room as well as Jagger. The eccentric vocalist has an appealing rawness and charm to his voice which compliments their otherwise slick melodies. The band have combined these elements together with clear thought and direction.
The band are era-defying, with noticeable influences from the 70’s and beyond. Equally the band are firmly in the 21st century in their delivery and production. This modern twist on an older style works wonders with their music and their latest single ‘Softie’ proves this.
Friends from high school, the group have a close bond through their shared passion for pursuing a career in music. “Danny and Phil are brothers and Danny went to school with Nathaniel and Paul. Then our friend Ella joined on keys and vocals most recently, completing the line-up.”
Their track ‘Pieces’ was picked up by BBC Introducing Merseyside in 2019 and you can see their performance of the track below.
The Peach Fuzz have also live streamed various songs during lockdown and performed a live set at the ‘Liverpool Digital Music Festival’ back in May, raising money for Liverpool NHS Hospitals by playing some “fresh peachy content.”
We cannot wait to hear more from this fresh five piece. In the meantime you can stream their latest single ‘Softie’ here.
