Friendly Fires built anticipation surrounding new material for what seemed an eternity (over eight years in fact), and whilst their comeback offering Inflorescent often slips into their creatively comfy area, it’s refreshing to see that the trio’s live performances still retain the zesty punch that defined their signature sonic cocktail.

Manchester’s Albert Hall is packed and front man Ed Macfarlane is a flailing, shimmying, and all-round dazzling force of a performer. Material from Inflorescent fits effortlessly into their set-list.

Heavy disco beats and elated hooks pulsate through the crowd and are personified through Macfarlane.

Showcasing all the St. Albans ensemble have to offer, Friendly Fires continually spread an infectious warmth that will leave you thirsty for more.
