Black Honey return with new summer single, ‘Beaches’, their first release since 2019’s ‘I ‘Don’t Ever Wanna Love’ and their self-titled album from 2018.
“‘Beaches’ is a cheeky twisted collage of all things weird, set to a playground clapping song. It’s all eye rolls, punk gigs & girls in polka dot bikinis. A nonsense filled retro world I wanna disappear into at times like these,” said vocalist Izzy B. Phillips.
‘Beaches’ is an ultimate summertime anthem with surfer style percussion, wobbly guitar riffs, and pure Hawaiian shirt energy.
The accompanying vintage music video is “a quarantine production” of a playful time capsule of 1960’s America. It was directed, shot, and edited by the four-piece from Brighton, and shows comedic references to Tarantino films.
“Starring Joe Exotic, Dolly Parton’s daughter, and Elvis Presley alongside Black Honey’s moustache collection. No expense was spared in the making of this video,” Phillips confirms.
