Jack Garratt is undoubtedly 2016’s rising star, catapulting from last year’s support slot on Mumford & Sons’ stadium tour straight into first place on the BBC’s Sound Of competition, and with a sold out UK tour ahead of him. He’s just dropped ‘Fire’, likely the last cut from his debut album Phase (pictured above) before its release later this month.

Aside from some pedestrian bass wobbles, the track ripples with energy, all the way up to a climactic snowstorm of electric blips and  shreds of Garratt’s voice, tender in this instance. It’s another step towards establishing Garratt’s sound: a kinetic sledgehammer to the charts, danceable and chaotic.

Phase drops Ferbuary 19th. Listen to ‘Fire’ below.
