We’ve been raving about the Reading-born singer-songwriter since his sensational debut single ‘Gold Strings‘ was released last year. And for good reason. Crooning vocals, bold guitar solos and 70’s style production are all elements which make Jacob Holroyd an earful of heaven and an upcoming maestro.

‘Rolling Eyes’ takes a different direction to the usual dreamy melodies we’ve come to love. But we are 100% here for it. The track doesn’t hesitate, delving straight in with a bouncy guitar riff and pulsating percussion.

While it departs from the sound of previous singles, it retains all the best elements and is surged with an infectious summer time vibe.

The single was recorded at London’s Hoxa HQ with recent MPG award winner Dani Bennett Spragg and draws upon ‘sentiments of youthful rebellion and defiance in the 21st century’.

“It’s a different sound and shows a hint of the louder, bolder songs in the set,” says Jacob.

Now backed up by a live band, Jacob explores new sonic territories, and ‘Rolling Eyes’ is only a hint of what is to come, both recorded and in live performances.

So be sure to check out his set live – Jacob will be visiting Newcastle and Nottingham this month – but keep an eye out for more dates in the future.

‘Rolling Eyes’ is available to stream now.
